Traverse City Christian Church
At Traverse City Christian Church we strive to follow the example of the New Testament Church with preaching, teaching elders.
We currently have three elders who continue to work with the men in the body who one day seek to be elders. They have active roles in the business of the church and take part in the preaching/teaching schedule as they are ready. One of our elders functions as an evangelist when he is sent out from Traverse City Christian Church to preach and teach in other areas as the need arises.
The men that preside over the Sunday meeting may include those seeking to be elders, as well as those with an interest only in fulfilling the role of the presider.
As each man's preaching/teaching and presiding style varies, we encourage you to visit with us at Traverse City Christian Church for four or five weeks to get a clear picture of who we are.
The Christians at Traverse City Christian Church strive to have Biblical accountability in teaching at all times.
We believe that all the teaching is to be Biblically based and all the men who teach are accountable for what they teach. It is therefore perfectly acceptable to question the teacher which many times leads to encouraging and in depth discussions where many of the body participate and all are fed.
